[blockquote]The Government of the United States has changed a lot in the past 10 years, and not for the better. Ever since the beginning of the Rebellion by annoyed Royalists violent demonstrations and cold blooded murders have begun to take place. The Government knew they were fighting on the losing side but refused to give up. There had to be some way to restore order, some way to strike fear into the hearts of all those who would dare to speak out for what they believed in.
It was during a meeting with the Prime Minister of England that they finally thought of something that might just fit the bill perfectly. However there was a slight issue. It would go against all the human rights that America had so painstakingly laid down all those years ago. They found a way around this pretty sharpish though. What were a few lives in favour of a whole country? It was no more than calling people up to fight in a war? Right? Thus the SS Project was born.
When a little girl called Rosalie Norrington was snatched from the cruel streets of London it came as no surprise to the surrounding area, she was just yet another child that had taken a wrong turning and been lost forever in the throng. She was but five years old and apart from her mother and sister no one truly cared for her at all. 100s of kids went missing every day; she might just be another runaway for all they knew. But Rosalie hadn’t run away, she’d been snatched. Snatched for the SS Project.
The little English child was shipped to a place called Wrong Side, home of the South Coast Lab. Once delivered she was introduced to three other 6 year old youths just like her. They were also scared, lonely and lost. There was Serena, from Wisconsin, Harry from New England, Daniel from Ohio and her, the only brit and younger than them all at 5. None of them knew why they had been taken from their homes and their loved ones and no one was prepared to give them an answer either, they were nothing more than lab rats to the scientists that surrounded them.
Serena was the first to be taken from her cell in the dead of night and implanted with technology that was designed to turn her into a ‘super soldier’, a human with extra-ordinary abilities. However this implant killed her the moment it connected to her nervous system. Her body was placed into a jar and pickled like a common animal just encase they needed to run more tests to find out why it failed.
Next it was Harry’s turn. Thankfully this time the experiment didn’t kill him, but he was branded ‘imperfect’ because he only had super speed and superhuman strength, that wasn’t good enough if they were going to get America back under control. Therefore he was tossed once more into his cell and for all the scientists cared he could rot, he wasn’t worth anything to them anymore. He was fed but no one paid him the blindest bit of notice apart from the other two children left un-tampered with.
It did not stay like this for long and very soon Daniel was taken and they drilled a new implant into the back of his neck, praying this time they had gotten it right because if they didn’t they only had one more shot. Unluckily their prayers were not answered and Daniel was pronounced ‘imperfect’, just like Harry. Dan’s powers however were slightly stronger so the scientists took this as a good sign; at least they were getting closer. Daniel had super speed, super strength and the ability to create forcefields around himself and other people for protection, they were almost there, they just needed these abilities one touch stronger and they would be set.
Finally, after a year of sitting alone in her ‘room’ the scientists scooped the now 6 year old Rosalie into their arms and carried her off to be tested, ignoring the screams of protest from the two boys. Over the year the three had grown extraordinarily close and the two guys didn’t want her hurt like they’d been. Her screams filled the echoing halls as the new implant was harshly drilled into the back of her neck, extending to wrap around her nervous system like a spider, ghosting over her bones and muscles, taking control of her body and rewriting her DNA to enhance it.
Three agonising hours later Rosalie was pronounced ‘perfect’. She could throw a car through a wall one handed, run 100 miles in the blink of an eye and return without even being out of breath, her forcefields could hold off anything, even a nuclear bomb. But alongside all this the scientists found something they hadn’t been expecting. Telekinesis and Mind Control. One woman was trying to tie Rosalie back to the table so they could remove the implant, so more perfect SS’s could be created, who cared if Rosie had to die for this to happen? She was expendable. But the moment the scientist, Dr Marshall, picked up a strap it would come wrenching off the table and confine her own body, strapping her to the table instead. Screaming in terror she watched as Rosalie ceased to exist and a more terrifying creature stood in her place. A creature that dove into the woman’s mind and shot pain through every nerve in her body, to show her what it had felt like. This creature was named 24601, the side effect of a perfect implant, an uncontrollable beast, all rage and passion that could not be reasoned with.
Rosalie was thrown back into her cell, and for the next 11 years she stayed there, no scientist dared approach until they could figure out how to contain 24601 to get their implant back so they could copy it. However in this 11 years the three children had began to plan, and on the eve of Rosalie’s 17th birthday they put it into action. Rosalie used her mind control to put all the guards to sleep and then all three of them flew full pelt at the bars holding them inside, it took three attempts but in the end they gave way and the three set off for the exit, not caring who got hurt as they passed, they hadn’t cared about them so why should they act any different?
Once on the outside they split up to race around the town for about an hour solid before they thought it was safe to regroup again, in a dark alley outside the local Hospital. They discovered where they were and Rosalie also came to the realisation that this was the exact place her sister and mother had moved to, had she somehow controlled their mind over all those miles? It was Rosie’s idea that they changed their names and soon Harry, Daniel and Rosalie ceased to exist. In their place stood Max, Tyler and Alexa. Three ordinary teenagers with nothing to make them stick out.
Alexa moved back in with her sister and mother, dusting over an explanation and then telling them to keep their mouths shut. Tyler and Max were not so well off and so moved in together, grateful that their parents had never stopped paying into their bank account over the years. Now the three are all ready to integrate back into the real world, but is it safe? The Government has every agent in the country on their tail; can they really keep their head down all alone? Or will they need some help? Maybe the teenagers at their local high school can help? Will you be one of those teenagers? Or will you stand with the Government and hunt them down?[/blockquote]
